Last year, Heather visited the Mongolia steppes and found a profound connection to the land and the Shamans that still practice there. She found that this country was rich with purpose, ceremony and connection, deepened Heather's Shamanism, her guides and many shamans still practising there. Her life-changing experience left such an imprint on her that it has permeated through all of The Ankara Academy's offerings, we are offering this life changing experience in this 2024 tour! The land will bring a state of awe, the medicine will bring physical and spiritual healing, and the experience will act like an initiation into a greater sense of purpose. Whether you're a practising shaman, a student or just curious about this ancient spiritual framework, this tour will awaken your mind and stir your soul.
ITINERARY
AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR JOURNEY

ARRIVAL AND ORIENTATION
Transfer from Airport to hotel as we begin our journey in the capital, Ulaanbaatar. Visit the Sukhbaatar Square and a healer shaman working in the city centre for a individual session to align your chakras. Dinner at a local restaurant.

SHAMAN FESTIVAL
Spend the day immersed in the festival atmsopshere interacting with shamans and delving into their rich traditions. Experience the spirit dance, the highlight of the Shaman festival as dancers move with the elemants casting vast shadows across the mongolian landscape

SHAMANIC EXPERIENCE
Immerse in the culture as we journey to the picteresque Altanbulag, meeting our first host family and experiencing their routines. Later we link up with a Shaman for our first rituals and fire ceremony.

HORSE ACHERY
Journey to Ulziit
An exhilarating day of horse archery. Experience the thrill of riding a horse, blending the art of archery with the elegance of horsemanship (no experience required but a level of fitness is encouraged).

HORSE ARCHERY DAY 2
On the second day of our horse archery adventure, indulge in a full day of practice sessions. From morning until night, engage in bow-and-arrow mastery, refining your skills under the guidance of our expert instructor

NARANTULL MARKETS
Spend the day immerse in the market atmosphere as you take the opportunity to stock up on Shamanic accessories and experience a local folk concert.

DEBRIEF WITH LOCAL SHAMAN
We will return to Altanbulag for some group discussions around our experiences. We will also have time to spend with our Shamanic Mentor for Q & A and guidance towards integrating the trip and preparing for our next steps in our spiritual journey.

Sacred Experiences
We will be joined by an experienced Shaman who will perform a traditional ceremony for each individual. You will each get a chance to work directly with the Shaman's Tengri (or spirit guides) to ask for guidance, blessings and change in your life.
We will also have time to spend with our english speaking Shaman, to ask him questions about his practices and modern day methods of serving his community.
Upon attending the Shaman Festival, we will see hundreds of registered Shamans from Mongolia and across the world in full costume! There will be demonstrations all day as well as markets, tools and opportunities to meet local Shamans.
